Rhea Ripley On Bianca Belair Feud – “We Want To Be The Next Stone Cold And The Rock”
Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair have big goals for their WWE careers with Ripley saying they want to create a rivalry that’s similar to two of pro wrestling’s biggest stars of all time.
As the Raw Women’s Champion, Bianca Belair has taken on all comers and done so with a big smile on her face. Recently on Raw, Belair was approached by Rhea Ripley in the backstage area, which was certainly a tease of a future rivalry between two women with very bright futures in the company.
Belair and Ripley have been linked together in WWE for many years since they were in NXT together as allies and opponents. They were also the final two women in the 2021 Royal Rumble. Even though Belair won, both women were holding up championships at WrestleMania 37 with Ripley beating Asuka for the Raw Women’s Title while Belair beat Sasha Banks in the Night One main event to win the Smackdown Women’s Title.
Ripley was supposed to challenge Belair for the Raw Women’s Title at Money in the Bank on July 2nd, but Ripley was injured and unable to compete. Ripley spoke to the New York Post about how perhaps her injury was a blessing in disguise because they don’t want to rush their rivalry.
“As upsetting as it was, I think it was a blessing in disguise. Bianca and I, it’s something that shouldn’t be rushed and we don’t want to rush it. Where that sort of felt like it’s gonna happen and that would be the end of it. We want our names to be etched in history. We want to leave our legacy where we can be in the ring together and make magic.”
In Ripley’s mind, they are perfect rivals for eachother and believe that their rivalry can be like what Steve Austin and The Rock created in the celebrated Attitude Era.
“Bianca and I are perfect rivals pretty much. We’ve talked about it in NXT before. We’ve talked about it here at Raw before. We pretty much want to be the next Stone Cold and The Rock. We want to have the storylines. We want to go out there and we want to steal the show.”
Regarding her injury, Ripley has said that she feels like she is just getting started all over again.
“I hadn’t been cleared for the longest time. I think I got cleared properly and fully the week before my NXT match (on Oct. 18). Apart from that, I pretty much wasn’t cleared that whole time (four months). After that there pretty much hasn’t been an opportunity for me to wrestle because I have been there with The Judgment Day and sort of their muscle. I help them out if they need me. I’m ‘the problem’ as the OC would say. I feel like my wrestling career is just starting up again.”
Rhea Ripley picked up a big win this past Monday on the November 21st edition of Raw when she beat in a Survivor Series WarGames Advantage match. That will lead into Survivor Series this Saturday, November 26th as Ripley faces off against Belair on opposite teams.
