Rey Mysterio will be participating in an interesting stipulation match against his son Dominik at an upcoming WWE live event on Father’s Day.
It’s been a big 2023 so far for WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio. He was the headline name for this year’s WWE Hall of Fame ceremony during WrestleMania weekend and not only that, but he beat his son Dominik Mysterio at WrestleMania 39 as well.
For months, Rey Mysterio said he never wanted to wrestle his son, but Dominik pushed him over the edge when Dominik was disrespectful towards Rey’s wife and Dom’s mom Angie.
In addition to all of that, Rey is leading the Latino World Order stable on Smackdown. The group also includes Santos Escobar, Zelina Vega, Cruz Del Toro and Joaquin Wilde. They also have an honorary member in Bad Bunny, who worked well with the LWO during Backlash weekend.
Since Rey and the LWO got drafted to Smackdown last month, he hasn’t seen too much of Dominik Mysterio with The Judgment Day (Finn Balor, Damian Priest & Smackdown Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley). However, that’s going to change next week.
Rey Mysterio will be facing his son Dominik next Sunday, June 18th on at WWE live event in Charleston, West Virginia on Father’s Day, reports PWInsider. It won’t just be a regular match, though. It will have a unique stipulation – a Father’s Day Street Fight.
Other matches for the June 18th WWE live event in Charleston, WV include:
* WWE World Heavyweight Championship: Seth Rollins vs. The Miz.
* Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships: Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn vs The Viking Raiders.
* WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship: Rhea Ripley vs. Natalya.
* WWE Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER vs. Matt Riddle vs. Shinsuke Nakamura.
* Also advertised are Becky Lynch, The Usos, Bayley and more.
Since it’s a WWE live event, the match likely won’t be broadcasted by WWE, but they may show some clips of it on social media.
