Rey Mysterio Provides Injury Update Amid 43-Day WWE In-Ring Absence
Rey Mysterio has been out of action from WWE for about six weeks now. He last competed in the Men’s Royal Rumble match at the Royal Rumble event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on January 31.
It was earlier reported that the Master of 619 suffered an arm injury during his singles match with Austin Theory on the February 26 edition of Monday Night Raw in Toronto, Canada.
However, later reports clarified that the injury was not related to his arm. PWInsider revealed that Rey Mysterio had actually injured his ribs.
Rey Mysterio Has Fractured Both His Ribs
The WWE Hall of Famer recently appeared on Unlikely with Adrian Hernandez, where he addressed his injury. He revealed that the injury took place in late January and that he is feeling much better now compared to before.
Given that he has fractured both his left and right ribs, Rey Mysterio stated that it might take some time to heal fully.
“Much better than when it actually happened. So, that injury occurred on January 27th, which was the Monday leading into the Rumble. Fractured ribs, both left and right. So those take a little bit of time to heal, but on the way out.”
Despite the injury, Rey Mysterio still appeared at the Royal Rumble, which shows his love and dedication to the business.
