Recently Released WWE Star Involved In Car Crash; Details Revealed
A former WWE Champion narrated the incident of recently being involved in a car crash.
The incident occurred when Zelina Vega was on her way to the airport two weeks ago, and while the former Women’s United States Champion did not sustain any injuries, her rental car was not so lucky.
The 35-year-old was let go from WWE as part of the post-WrestleMania releases along with 20+ wrestlers, including her husband, Aleister Black.
Zelina shared the details of the accident while speaking on the ZELVX and CHARLIE GIRL podcast with Charlie (fka Dakota Kai).
It was raining and then it was snowing. I don’t know how the—this bipolar weather was crazy. It was like raining and snowing and then all of a sudden, like, I’m 5 minutes away, literally 5 from the airport. And all of a sudden my wheel goes, and it went that way, and I went to pull it this way, and then I hit the median.
My gas tank went from being like halfway full to like being empty. The mirror off, the handle for the door off, everything is all scratched up, and the front part was completely totaled. [H/T: Sportskeeda]
She also revealed that the officer on site questioned her about being on her phone while driving. Zelina, however, explained that the road was bad. The officer then helped the ex-WWE star reach the airport with the help of another official.
Zelina Vega To Join AEW Following WWE Release?
After her release from WWE, Zelina revealed on her Twitch stream that she received a call from TKO instead of the Stamford promotion, informing her about her status.
Vega admitted that the move surprised her.
Amid reports of the couple’s next destination, some reports claimed that Aleister Black had burnt bridges during his first stint with AEW. During a podcast, even MJF claimed that Black used All Elite Wrestling as a stepping stone to return to WWE.
However, the latest update from Jonathan Coachman revealed that both Zelina and Black were headed to AEW once their no-compete clause expired.
Aleister Black and Zelina Vega are confirmed to go back to AEW. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a talent go back and forth twice to each.
This feels different than the last time. And let’s be honest, because you and I have been in the wrestling business for a long time — it gets really terrifying when you lose your job, and you’re like, ‘Where am I going to go?’ Not to earn a lot of money, just to earn a living and pay my bills. And so if AEW is willing to give them both a deal, then they should take it.
Coach also opined that he did not like the couple’s decision to return to AEW.
But I don’t agree with signing these two, with all due respect, because I don’t think Aleister Black moves the needle at all. Right now, if you’re signing any talent, they got to be talented, and they have to come in and make a difference.
