Randy Orton Makes Shocking WWE Confession: “You Piece Of S*it”
Randy Orton has opened up about his place on the WWE roster and how he deals with younger talent.
When it comes to longevity on the WWE roster, Randy Orton is somebody who can literally say he’s seen it all and done it all as a WWE superstar.
After signing with WWE as a 20-year-old in 2000, Orton debuted on the main roster two years later, and at the age of 24, he was the youngest World Heavyweight Champion in WWE history. That’s a record that Orton has had for 22 years, and it may never be broken.
While Orton hasn’t been a World Champion for six years, he remains a main-event performer who continues to perform at a high level.
During an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, Randy Orton talked about the different elements of being a WWE superstar.
“There are 360 degrees to this — you’re playing to the crowd in the arena, and then you’re playing to the people at home sitting on the couch, too. There are all these different elements.”
Randy Orton Enjoys Helping Younger WWE Talent…When They Actually Listen
For many current WWE superstars, Randy Orton is somebody they looked up to as fans, and now they get to work with him as active superstars. In his role as a mentor, Orton admitted he knows it’s important to help the younger talent.
“As far as younger talent goes, in my old age I’ve found some fulfillment in helping out the young guys. Earlier in my career, I didn’t want to, because I didn’t want anyone taking my spot. Then I realized they can’t take my spot — because I’m Randy Orton.”
“Sometimes I have to remind myself. I’m human, and I forget. But then I remember — I’m Randy Orton. Let me help these kids out.”
The future WWE Hall of Famer would then go on to talk about his frustration when he gives advice, and people don’t listen.
“You get the occasional one who says, ‘Hey, will you watch my match?’ You watch it, you talk to him, and he doesn’t change anything or take any advice. Then you realize, okay you piece of s**t, you’re just doing what you think you should be doing.”
However, Orton did specifically credit two younger wrestlers who listen well.
“But then there are guys who really care — like Je’Von Evans and Trick Williams. I could name so many more.” (H/T Ringsidenews)
Randy Orton will be inside the Elimination Chamber with Evans and Williams, along with three more big-name WWE superstars.
