Randy Orton could be getting ready for a return to the WWE ring.

Randy Orton last competed in WWE back in May 2022 when he and Matt Riddle lost to The Usos in a match to unify both the Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Championships. Orton then underwent back fusion surgery which has kept him out of action ever since and caused doctors to tell him that a return to the ring would not be a good idea.

However, there has been an indication that the 14-time world champion could be inching closer to a return after he was seen at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. Fightful Select has reported that WWE sources have confirmed Orton has been there.

Randy Orton is not believed to have begun in-ring training but has been working out in the gym during his recovery and it has been reiterated that he is still not cleared to compete.

The report cites a comment from Cody Rhodes who noted that WWE has strict rules about talent having to work out in some capacity before returning to action and they are enforced with even The Undertaker having to follow that procedure. That at least will give fans of The Viper some hope that a return to WWE television will happen sooner rather than later.

Orton could very well be working out alongside Jade Cargill who is believed to be reporting to the Performance Center after her time in AEW came to an end.

There is also set to be a tryout held by the company which will welcome many talents from the independent scene to try and find their way to becoming a WWE Superstar.
