There are not a lot of WWE wrestlers who are as enigmatic as Paul Heyman.

This personality trait has led to Heyman managing multiple popular names like Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar, CM Punk, and Seth Rollins before he either betrayed them or found better value elsewhere.

Paul Heyman’s words also carry weight, knowing his decades-long experience in the wrestling industry.

Ahead of the Backlash PLE, scheduled on Saturday, May 9, the 60-year-old spoke on ESPN’s Get Up, where he was asked about Roman Reigns’ title defense against his cousin Jacob Fatu.

When asked if Fatu would upset Reigns, Heyman claimed that no one wanted that, considering The Samoan Werewolf is a publicity nightmare.

Completely turns WWE completely upside down because now we have, you saw him here yesterday. Jacob Fatu can go off at any time. And that’s not exactly who you want on Good Morning America or Get Up or First Take. He’s not exactly the people-friendly champion that we come to expect from WWE. He’s a publicity nightmare. Did Gunther Use Paul Heyman To Get To Cody Rhodes On SmackDown?

On the May 1 episode of WWE SmackDown, former World Heavyweight Champion Gunther made a massive statement by attacking Cody Rhodes.

The Ring General made his presence felt following Rhodes’ victory over the debuting Ricky Saints in a non-title match.

As The American Nightmare celebrated his win, Gunther emerged from the audience and applied his chokehold on the Undisputed WWE Champion, causing him to black out.

Fans have speculated about Paul Heyman’s role in this, as he was seen in the background with SmackDown GM Nick Aldis during a backstage segment where Damian Priest awarded a tag team title shot to Fraxiom.

This segment made fans wonder if Heyman had paid his debt to Gunther for saving him from Seth Rollins by bringing him to the blue brand.

Earlier, there were reports that Gunther would face Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam later in the year, in August in Minneapolis. However, Lesnar shockingly retired following his loss to Oba Femi at WrestleMania 42.

Gunther, meanwhile, is scheduled to make an appearance on tomorrow’s SmackDown taping in Tampa, Florida.
