NXT Tag Team Make WWE SmackDown Debut
A tag team that is known for never slowing down has officially been moved from NXT to WWE SmackDown following WrestleMania weekend.
The opening match on WWE SmackDown in Forth Worth featured the official main roster debut of Fraxiom, which is Nathan Frazer & Axiom.
At NXT Stand & Deliver, Fraxiom lost the NXT Tag Team Titles to Hank & Tank after an incredible title reign that lasted 230 days. The two NXT Tag Team Title reigns that Fraxiom had lasted a combined 356 days, which is just nine days short of one year.
In their official WWE SmackDown debut match, Fraxiom faced off against Los Garza’s Angel & Berto in an exciting match that was full of action. Fraxiom got the win when Axiom hit a Spanish Fly off the top turnbuckle, and then Frazer hit a Phoenix Splash off another turnbuckle for the pinfall win.
Frazer and Axiom have had singles matches on SmackDown recently since Frazer lost to Rey Fenix while Axiom lost to Gunther.
While Frazer and Axiom broke out as a team, they have both paid their dues in WWE after starting on the now-defunct NXT UK brand. Frazer signed in 2020 after training at Seth Rollins’ Black & Brave wrestling school. Axiom has worked for WWE since 2019 while using the name A-Kid. In March 2022, he became a masked wrestler named Axiom and eventually formed the team with Frazer after the two men bonded due to their similar wrestling styles.
WWE SmackDown Features Two Title Matches
On the first SmackDown after WrestleMania, there were two big title matches, which included one title change.
Zelina Vega had beaten Chelsea Green twice in non-title matches, so this time, they had a match for Green’s Women’s US Title. Vega ended up hitting a Code Red to win the title.
In the main event, The Street Profits won an incredible Tables, Ladders & Chairs Match over #DIY and Motor City Machine Guns to retain the WWE Tag Team Titles in what was one of the best WWE TV matches in years.
Also on SmackDown, Aleister Black made his official WWE return after weeks of building it up with mysterious video packages. Black returned to WWE by dropping The Miz with a Black Mass kick.
