NXT Newcomer Turns Heads In First Match Against Ethan Page

An exciting night of NXT action is in store for the fans tonight as the journey towards crowning a new NXT Champion begins with the first set of qualifying matches for the six-person ladder match set for tonight.

General Manager Ava announced last week that the winner of the ladder match will become the new champion on the February 3 episode of the brand, and Ricky Saints became the first person to qualify for the match.

In addition to the qualifying matches, tonight also marked the debut of the French Luchador, Elio LeFluer, who faced Ethan Page for the North American Championship to open the show.

LeFluer got the crowd on its feet with his high-flying action as he impressed in his WWE debut, but was quickly overpowered by Ethan Page, who targeted his lower back throughout the match.

The Luchador seemed to have hit his stride towards the end of the match and came close to winning the title in his debut match multiple times, but Page outsmarted him for the win and pinned him with a surprise roll-up by getting hold of his trunks.
