After being unable to compete at WrestleMania 42 Night One due to an ankle injury, WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella has shared an update following surgery.

The Bella Twins reunited at the 2026 Royal Rumble and immediately set their sights on the tag team gold. They were set to compete at The Show of Shows in a Fatal Four-Way match for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship, also featuring the champs, The Irresistible Forces, Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss, and Bayley & Lyra Valkyria. However, The Fearless One suffered an ankle injury while competing against Charlotte Flair on the March 27 edition of SmackDown.

Earlier reports suggested that Nikki and her sister Brie were set to be replaced by The Kabuki Warriors; however, that turned out not to be the case, as a returning Paige replaced Nikki in the match. The former Divas Champion teamed up with Brie and won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship after pinning Alexa Bliss.

Now, Nikki Bella has shared an update on the injury following her surgery.

Nikki Bella shared an update, two weeks after surgery

The Fearless One took to her X account following ‘Mania and shared she has been in a lot of pain for the past two weeks, and she fractured, tore, and sprained her ankle.

Nikki was present at the WrestleMania post-show and revealed that she had actually undergone surgery two weeks before The Show of Shows in Birmingham. She also noted that she met Paige there and made it clear there was no one she would have wanted replacing her other than Paige, calling it part of the journey.

I actually got surgery two weeks ago from yesterday. I managed to break, sprain, and tear my ankle. When I’m headed into Birmingham to get surgery. Guess who is in Birmingham. I was like, ‘Brie, there is no way I’m going to make WrestleMania, but you still have to have your moment.’ We were both like, ‘The only person who will make it feel special and like family is Paige.’ It’s crazy how life works. It’s part of the journey. There is no one else, and I truly mean this, no other WWE Superstar in the past or now, that I would want to take my place than Paige.

It remains to be seen when Nikki Bella will make her return.
