Could Nick Aldis really wrestle again?

Nick Aldis began working with WWE in August 2023 after a short spell with what was IMPACT Wrestling. The British star initially worked backstage as a producer before being named SmackDown General Manager on October 13th.

The former World Champion hasn’t wrestled since competing at an independent event in October 2023, with his last match for a major promotion taking place in IMPACT three months earlier.

Despite his non-wrestling role on SmackDown, Aldis has repeatedly said he’s open to lacing up his boots again in the right circumstances.

Nick Aldis Says Time Will Tell

On social media, Raw General Manager Adam Pearce was asked whether he’d ever face his SmackDown counterpart Aldis. Prior to signing with WWE as a coach and producer in 2012, Pearce had a distinguished in-ring career of his own, enjoying spells with ROH, the NWA, and across the independent scene.

Pearce said both WWE and NWA fans would like to see the match, but after saying “The short answer is” he cut the video.

In response, Aldis wrote on social media that “time will tell.”

After much deliberation I have decided to respond to this post by my Raw counterpart.

We both enjoyed a decorated tenure in our careers before WWE; there is no doubt you & I respect the legacy and tradition of our industry. So you’re asking if I would step in the ring with you?…

Time will tell.

Pearce began working as an on-screen authority figure across Raw and SmackDown in 2020 before being moved to Raw after Aldis’ on-screen arrival in October 2023.
