MJF Trashes WWE Hall Of Famer’s Promo Skills

MJF on AEW Dynamite with a microphone in his hand

MJF isn’t shy about voicing his opinion, even if it comes at the expense of revered Hall of Famers.

Maxwell Jacob Friedman is known for many things but most fans consider his best skill to be his promos. Few wrestlers can match him on the microphone; in fact, he was voted Best on Interviews by readers of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter in 2021, which was a year that included CM Punk.

One doesn’t need to look far to understand why his promos receive such praise.

Because of this talent of his, Friedman came from a position of knowledge and experience when he lambasted a WWE Hall of Famer for his promo skills.

During an appearance on WTF with Marc Maron, the AEW World Champion took some shots at fellow Jewish wrestler Bill Goldberg. He noted that while he loves Goldberg, he also noted that he – MJF – was the only Jewish world champion that was as good on the mic as he was on the mat.

“If you’re a Jew, you love MJF because, if you think about it, I’m really the first prolific world champion that just so happens to be Jewish in the history of the business that is good at talking and wrestling. Love Bill Goldberg to death, but you put a mic in front of his mouth, he kind of has a bit of a panic attack.”

MJF’s most recent match was on the February 8th, 2023 edition of AEW Dynamite, in which he beat Konosuke Takeshita in a world title eliminator match.
