MJF Claims AEW Locker Room Is Finally Free Of “Cancers”

MJF is at it again with his straight talk.

MJF (Maxwell James Friedman) is the current AEW World Champion.

Friedman won the belt in December last year at AEW: World’s End and has defended his title twice in the past two months, once against Bandido and then against Bandido’s tag team partner Brody King.

During his reign, he has been appearing on multiple podcasts where he usually shoots straight and maintains an entertaining and charismatic, arrogant heel persona.

MJF Says AEW Locker Room Is Now Free Of “Cancers”

Since its inception in 2019, AEW has been the promotion that has challenged WWE as its top competitor.

Many stars jump from WWE to AEW and vice versa when they feel they aren’t being utilised appropriately, and one of those stars who was known to cause trouble backstage in AEW was current WWE World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk.

But in recent times, the AEW and WWE war seems to have settled with each promotion doing its own thing and wrestlers still making moves, but not at the same level as a few years ago.

MJF recently did an interview with The Takedown on SI, where he spoke about the current state of the AEW locker room, claiming that it only has wrestlers who want to be in the promotion, and those who don’t eventually get weeded out and sent packing. He praised the atmosphere there as being the best in the company’s history.

MJF also joked that he is part of his own locker room as champion, but is glad that the stars are all getting along well.

Right now, it’s about fresh faces. It’s about the new young guys. It’s about pushing the guys that are under 40 into emphasis. It’s about giving opportunities to individuals that want to be in All Elite Wrestling. If you don’t want to be in AEW, f**k off, go have fun elsewhere. We don’t want you here.

Everyone in that locker room right now wants to be in AEW, because it’s the most competitive locker room. It’s where the best wrestle. It’s where you get compensated the way you should be compensated for your talents. It’s where you’re treated like a human being.

Right now, there’s never been a better team atmosphere in the history of the AEW locker room. Am I a part of that team? Abso-f**king-lutely not, I hang out in my own locker room. But it’s nice to see everybody getting along

There’s no b*******. There’s no more cancers. There’s no more a**holes that think they’re too cool for school. There’s no more shmegegges that think they should be elsewhere.

Everybody in this promotion wants to be in this promotion, and if you don’t, you get weeded out pretty damn fast. Because we’ll beat the s**t out of you and send you packing.
