MJF came to the defense of Cash Wheeler after news of his arrest surfaced on August 18th.

It was reported earlier today that Cash Wheeler (real name Daniel Wheeler) had been arrested on charges of aggravated assault with a firearm. The alleged incident took place on July 27th, and according to a police report, Wheeler was accused of driving erratically and “pointing a black semi-automatic handgun out of the driver’s window at him with a strong stare.” The alleged victim stated that he “feared for his life.”

During Wheeler’s arraignment on August 18th, a judge granted his release from jail on a $2500 and ordered that he have no contact with his alleged victims. He was also ordered to surrender all weapons in his possession within 12 hours of his release as he was not to have any weapons on his person.

News of Cash Wheeler’s arrest comes just over a week away from All Elite Wrestling making its UK debut when the company presents All In on August 27th. Wheeler and FTR partner Dax Harwood are scheduled to defend their championship against The Young Bucks inside Wembley Stadium.

Understandably, fans have begun to question whether this match will still take place after the events of today. As reported by PWInsider, court documents from Cash Wheeler’s arraignment indicate that he is not being asked to surrender his passport. In addition, the court has not imposed any restrictions on him traveling internationally, and because he has not been convicted of a crime, he should have no problem traveling to the UK if All Elite Wrestling decides to go ahead with the match.

MJF Says Cash Wheeler Will Be At AEW All In

AEW World Champion MJF took to social media today to defend Wheeler from the harsh criticism he’s received online. He also insisted that the bout between FTR and The Young Bucks would still take place as advertised, writing:

“Kinda disappointed how many dorks there are on this app that jump to conclusions so quick. A ton of peoples privilege is showing. We’re all human. We’re all flawed. We all make mistakes. Take it from a guy who’s made more mistakes than most. I’ve had my ups and downs with FTR but Cash wheeler is a great dude and a bad ass. You’re getting FTR Vs Young Bucks in front of 80k plus on august 27th. Talk about that ya dweebs.”

AEW issued the following statement about Wheeler’s arrest:

“AEW has been made aware of the charge, and we are closely monitoring the situation. (Wheeler) is fully cooperating with local authorities.”
