MJF’s Bold Statement About Surprising AEW World Title Match
The AEW World Champion MJF made an interesting remark ahead of an upcoming title match.
As the two-time and current AEW World Champion, Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) usually defends his gold at AEW shows, whether it’s a PPV, an episode of Dynamite, or perhaps an episode of Collision.
However, AEW also has affiliations with other promotions, such as NJPW and CMLL, so it’s conceivable that a title could be on the line in one of those companies.
In addition to that, some AEW wrestlers get to wrestle at independent events as long as they get company approval to do so.
At the Limitless Wrestling “Limitless Rumble” event on Friday, January 16th, MJF will defend the AEW World Title against Alec Price.
While promoting his AEW World Title match on social media, MJF made the bold claim that he’s better than one of the best World Champions in pro wrestling history, Ric Flair.
Not since Ric Flair has the world champion defended his title on the territory’s/independent’s.
I’m not saying I’m Flair.
I’m saying I’m Friedman.
And that makes me BETTER! 😉

MJF Claims To Be The Best Wrestler Ever Not To Be Signed By WWE
While speaking about his place in pro wrestling, the AEW World Champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman confidently spoke about his place in pro wrestling.
“I’m 29, I’m on the precipice of greatness. I want to be a multiple time World champion.
I like to think of the fact that at this moment, I think there’s an argument to be made that I’m the most famous professional wrestler in the history of the business to have never been signed to WWE.
I take a great amount of pride in that because that’s DIY, that takes effort.
It also takes, as much as I hate to admit it, it takes these disgusting troglodyte marks fully marching along with me on my beaten path, which they have so far.”
In his most recent AEW World Title defense, MJF defeated Bandido in the main event of Dynamite “Maximum Carnage” on January 14th, winning via submission.
