Mercedes Mone Teases WWE Return

Mercedes Mone

Mercedes Mone could be set to return to WWE after dropping hints linking her with the company she infamously walked out on.

Mercedes Mone and Trinity (then known as Sasha Banks and Naomi) walked out of WWE in May 2022 having grown increasingly frustrated with their creative direction. The pair were WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions at the time and that title was vacated as a result.

Since then, Trinity has found success in TNA while Mone ventured to Japan to compete in NJPW where she captured the IWGP Women’s Championship from KAIRI – who has since returned to WWE as Kairi Sane.

However, injury has hampered Mone’s continued success and she remains out of action, having last competed in May 2023. She was seen watching in the crowd at AEW All In amid suggestions she was set to sign with Tony Khan’s company. However, AEW plans for Mercedes Mone are believed to have been shelved since then.

Mercedes Mone Looks Back To WWE Days

Taking to social media, Mercedes Mone set the rumour mill into overdrive as she shared a succession of photos of her WWE Funko Pops under the Sasha Banks name. She also shared a photo of The Rock stealing the look that she has become synonymous with since leaving WWE.

The Rock as Mercedes Mone

There had been plenty of suggestion in recent weeks that Mercedes Mone could factor into Bayley’s storyline with Damage CTRL which many believe will see the Role Model kicked out by the rest of the group. Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch had been on the opposing side of Damage CTRL as well so a Four Horsewomen reunion to go against IYO SKY, Asuka, Kairi Sane, and Dakota Kai had many hoping for the best. However, an injury to Flair might have scuppered that plan for now.
