Breaking: McMahon Family Member Officially Nominated For An Oscar Award
The McMahon family has a reason to celebrate.
For several decades, the family has been at the forefront when it comes to producing quality live wrestling content broadcast in different countries around the world.
While the likes of Vince, Stephanie, Shane, Linda, and Triple H made waves in WWE, another member of the family was creating their own pathway outside.
The nominations for the 98th Academy Awards were announced on January 22 across various categories.
As far as the McMahon family is concerned, they will watch the Best Picture category closely due to Train Dreams earning a nomination.
The 2025 movie, starring Joel Edgerton and Felicity Jones, has Shane McMahon’s wife, Marissa, attached to the project as one of the producers.
The American period drama follows Robert Grainier (Edgerton) as he assists in the development of US railways.
Train Dreams has also earned nominations in other categories, including ‘Best adapted screenplay,’ ‘Best cinematography,’ and ‘Best original song.’
The McMahon Family Celebrates; The Rock Does Not
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson was tipped to earn an Oscar nomination for his portrayal of Mark Kerr in The Smashing Machine.
The 53-year-old had received a Golden Globe nomination in the Best Actor category, but lost the award to Wagner Moura, who starred in The Secret Agent.
After losing the award, he shared a backstage video on Instagram, where he revealed that he would have celebrated his win by pulling out a note written to him by his 10-year-old daughter.
In the case of The Rock or the McMahon family, WWE has already won by association. Whether or not Train Dreams wins the Best Picture Award remains to be seen.
