Major Update On Cody Rhodes’ Whereabouts Amid Mysterious WWE Absence
Cody Rhodes has been spotted, although not inside a wrestling ring.
The Undisputed WWE Champion’s last WWE appearance was during the August 8 episode of SmackDown.
In the main event of that taping, he teamed up with John Cena to face Logan Paul and Drew McIntyre. Earlier in the night, the heel duo had attacked Cena, forcing Rhodes to make the save.
The match ended in a disqualification win for the babyfaces after Paul hit Cena with a low blow.
Outside the ring, however, a major incident was about to unfold.
Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre battled outside, with the latter incapacitating the champion by hitting him with the title.
In a fit of rage, McIntyre launched a vicious Claymore Kick that sent The American Nightmare crashing through the foot of the announcers’ table.
Cody has since been out of action, leaving fans wondering about his whereabouts and even his health after McIntyre accused WWE of hiding Rhodes’ medical reports.
Cody Rhodes Spotted In Australia
Cody Rhodes is thousands of miles away from the United States, or in this case, Europe, where WWE is on tour currently.
Rhodes has been spotted in Australia, filming his scenes for the upcoming Street Fighter movie, scheduled for a 2026 release. The 40-year-old plays the character of Guile.
His costar and standup comedian Andrew Schulz recently shared a picture teasing Rhodes’ appearance in the movie.
Some of the other top names in the film include Jason Momoa, rapper 50 Cent, and Noah Centineo.
Rhodes’ WrestleMania 40 opponent, Roman Reigns, is a part of the project, too, as he plays Akuma, a secondary antagonist in the Street Fighter series.
Meanwhile, there has been no official return date surrounding Cody Rhodes.
WWE’s ongoing UK Tour is the leadup to the Clash in Paris PLE, scheduled on August 31.
Elsewhere, a WWE personality has predicted the timeline of Rhodes return to the promotion. Read about it here.
