LA Knight has been the people’s choice for most of 2023 in WWE now with crowds getting behind him at shows and with their money at the merch table despite him not always being featured in high-profile slots on shows.
However, as the year wore on, Knight picked up a big win at SummerSlam, albeit in a battle royal, and his rise to the top of the company is starting to look unstoppable. At Payback Knight won the first singles PLE match of his WWE career when he defeated The Miz in a bout refereed by John Cena. And the world of SmackDown could be Knight’s oyster moving forward.

Knight recently missed out on the chance to challenge Rey Mysterio for the United States Championship but with the star now seen by the company as Friday night’s top good guy, the prizes in his future could be even bigger than that title.
