Kurt Angle has admitted he turned down WWE after being offered the opportunity to appear during the 2023 Draft.

This year’s draft took place across Smackdown and Raw last week, with Triple H opening with the first picks.

Legends including Shawn Michaels, Eric Bischoff, Rob Van Dam, and Molly Holly took turns announcing which Superstars had been secured for each brand.

Kurt Angle recently appeared on the 30th Anniversary episode of Raw and was asked to be part of the Draft.

But the Hall of Famer has shared how he turned WWE down and revealed the reason why.

The Grand Slam Champion admitted on The Kurt Angle Show that he already had plans and would not be able to appear.

“I was asked to do it, and I couldn’t, unfortunately. I wish I could have. I would have loved to be there and announce a draft pick, but unfortunately, I was busy that day and couldn’t do it.

They offered me. I had to turn it down, unfortunately.”

Whilst Kurt Angle was unable to take part, Shawn Michaels was involved as several NXT Superstars were called up to the main roster.

Indi Hartwell gave an emotional farewell to NXT last week leaving the Women’s Championship in the ring and being carried out by Dexter Lumis ahead of her step up to the Raw brand.

The Draft picks come into effect tomorrow night on Raw alongside first round matches as WWE looks to crown a new World Heavyweight Champion.

After wins at Backlash both Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes will be hot favorites to be competing over the Championship.
