Kurt Angle Stopped From Getting Too Physical With Stephanie McMahon

WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle has explained why Vince McMahon had to put a stop to him doing any more moves to Stephanie McMahon during a match.

Back in 2000, an unlikely story emerged in the world of WWE – a love triangle that featured husband and wife Triple H and Stephanie McMahon and the clean-cut Olympic gold medallist, Kurt Angle.

Not only did The Game and Angle find themselves battling for McMahon’s affections, but they also spent most of the year tussling with each other and several other WWE Superstars over the WWE Championship.

At that year’s Unforgiven, Kurt Angle and Triple H went one-on-one to try and put an end to their issues with Mick Foley as special guest referee and Stephanie McMahon in her husband’s corner. This being during the Attitude Era there was no question that the current WWE Chairwoman would be getting involved in the physicality.

Speaking on The Kurt Angle Show (available early on AdFreeShows), Kurt Angle revealed that then-WWE boss Vince McMahon put a limit on physical his daughter could get in the bout:

“You know what’s crazy? We were going to do three more spots where we actually landed on Stephanie again, but Vince was like, ‘This is too much.’ So we had to take three of them out. She was getting her ass beat [laughs].”
