Key Question Raised After Drew McIntyre’s WWE Title Win

Drew McIntyre WWE Champion

Drew McIntyre won the WWE Undisputed Championship on the January 9 edition of Friday Night SmackDown after beating Cody Rhodes in a Three Stages of Hell match.

The fans saw Jacob Fatu return from his hiatus and attack McIntyre and Rhodes during the third and last stage of the bout, which was a steel cage match.

After Fatu was done with McIntyre, he shifted his attention to The American Nightmare, which gave The Scottish Psychopath an opportunity to escape the cage and steal the victory to win the championship gold.

On a recent edition of Busted Open, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray weighed in on McIntyre beating Cody Rhodes to become the new WWE Undisputed Champion. He expressed confusion as to why Jacob Fatu went after Cody Rhodes and forgot about McIntyre completely, allowing McIntyre to pick up the win.

Unless my eyes are playing tricks on me. Didn’t Cody just put his hand on Jacob’s shoulder? The little part that was a disconnect for me was why Jacob Fatu went after Cody as voraciously as he did and then basically completely disregarded the guy that he thought attacked him and allowed him to win. Like, that was the part that was just a tiny bit of a disconnect.

Booker T Is Happy With Drew McIntyre’s Title Victory

WWE Hall of Famer Booker T also shared his thoughts on Drew McIntyre becoming the new champion on his Hall of Fame podcast. He expressed his happiness at McIntyre’s title victory, saying that it was long overdue.

“When you’re crying about going out there and proving you should be that top guy, that’s something, but Drew? He should be that guy, you look at him. He checks off every damn box. Give him the ball and let him run with it.

Cody’s done very, very well, but I feel like it was time for a change. It’s not for me to go on record, before it happened, and say it’s time for a change, but after the fact, looking at it, I think it was time for a change. I think it’s time for Drew McIntyre to get his props. To get his run.”
