There is some good news about the rib injury that Kevin Owens has been dealing with.

Following an injury angle that took place this past Monday on WWE Raw, the good news is that Kevin Owens isn’t expected to be out of action for that long.

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn are best friends that main evented WrestleMania 39 Saturday and became the WWE Tag Team Champions that put an end to The Usos’ record-long Tag Team Title reign. For over three months, they’ve taken on all challengers and retained those titles.

On Raw this past Monday, Sami Zayn was challenging “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio for the NXT North American Title. It looked like Zayn might win, but then we saw Damian Priest & Rhea Ripley of The Judgment Day beating up Owens by the entrance. Owens was down selling a rib injury. This allowed Dominik to get the win over a distracted Zayn.

It was reported by Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that while Owens has a legitimate rib injury, there is optimism that Owens won’t be out for a lengthy period.

“Owens had been working for some time with a fractured rib so the Judgment Day attack on him was a way to give him some time off to heal. We don’t know yet how the tag team title situation will be addressed. He’s not supposed to be out for a lengthy period.”

Due to the Kevin Owens injury, the team of Owens & Sami Zayn are likely not going to be on the SummerSlam card on August 5th even though it is one of WWE’s biggest shows of the year.

What Other Championships Has Kevin Owens Won In WWE?

In addition to being a current WWE Tag Team Champion, Kevin Owens has won plenty of other gold during his WWE career that started about eight years ago. Owens has also been the WWE Universal Champion, he is a three-time US Champion, a two-time Intercontinental Champion and an NXT Champion as well.
