Kevin Owens Explains Why He Missed Raw

Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens was scheduled to take on Ezekiel, Elias, or even Elrod on Raw in Laredo, Texas on Monday night but now the star has explained why he wasn’t even at the show.

Ever since Owens lost to Stone Cold Steve Austin in the main event of WrestleMania 38, the former WWE Universal Champion has slowly been unravelling on Raw thanks to one man – or one set of brothers depending on who you believe.

Ezekiel made his WWE debut on the Raw after WrestleMania, looking like a well-groomed version of a star fans hadn’t seen in quite some time, Elias. When Kevin Owens questioned the apparent identity crisis, he was told that Ezekiel is Elias’ brother – something the Canadian is loathe to believe.

On the 20th of June edition of Raw Elias and Ezekiel attempted to prove that they were more than just one man by appearing on-screen together. Owens remained unconvinced, accusing the brothers of movie magic before challenging either of them or their up-until-now unknown brother Elrod.

Despite the challenge and the match being advertised – something WWE apparently takes seriously judging by their reaction to Sasha Banks and Naomi walking out on Raw despite being advertised – the match didn’t happen and Kevin Owens didn’t appear on the show.

Taking to social media, Owens has now explained why – and it seems to hark back to his issues with Texas that erupted before his showdown with The Texas Rattlesnake:

“I didn’t want to go to Texas so I didn’t go. Leave me alone.”

Whether or not travel plans or even an injury prevented Kevin Owens from being at the show remains to be seen.
