Kenny Omega Offers Eddie Kingston “A Home In AEW”

Kenny Omega doesn’t want to fight Eddie Kingston; instead, he wants the Mad King to fight alongside The Elite.

Back in March, Eddie Kingston made the shocking declaration that he had quit AEW. In the months to follow, he’s only wrestled on three occasions, twice under the ROH banner and once for DDT.

His most recent bout saw him challenge Claudio Castagnoli for the ROH World Championship at Supercard of Honor, but he came up short against the Blackpool Combat Club member.

Kingston has been open about the fact that he doesn’t like Castagnoli in real life, and on the June 14th episode of Dynamite, he made a shocking return to AEW to help The Elite as they were being attacked by the Blackpool Combat Club, renewing his rivalry with the ROH Champion in the process as he laid out Castagnoli first. He also came face to face with longtime friend Jon Moxley.

After the show went off the air, Kenny Omega took to the microphone to address Kingston’s return, saying that while they might never be friends, the Mad King has a home in AEW to fight alongside The Elite.

“Eddie, I’m talking to you. That’s right. No, it’s not what you think. I don’t want to fight you. In fact, we can both use as many friends as we can get. Before you get the idea. I’m not saying we’re gonna share a note. I’m not saying we’re gonna share a Coke Zero. But if you want a place in this ring with The Elite, if you want to fight the good fight against those guys back there, against those guys across the sea in Japan, then you’ve got a home in AEW with us.

“It seems like the more time goes by, the more I’m picking myself up to to tell you guys some kind of happy story to close off the night with. The only happy story I’ve got right now is that it isn’t over. We’ve still got Rampage. I’ve still got a visit to the hospital. But you’ve still got all of us, and week by week, day by day, the people that want to spread the message that wrestling is a beautiful place, and that we will take on the world’s best, no matter where they come from.”
