Jonathan Coachman Told WWE Will Fire Triple H In This Scenario
Johnathan Coachman recently revealed that he was told by a close friend in the wrestling business under what circumstances Triple H could be fired as WWE’s CCO.
Triple H’s booking hasn’t gone over well with fans and critics in the past several months.
His direction of John Cena’s retirement tour included a temporary heel turn that ended abruptly, giving Cena fewer dates than he was ready for, and had him tap out to Gunther in his final ever match. This did not please fans, and they began giving The Game a lot of heat for his decisions.
The build to WrestleMania 42 was equally criticized, with multiple pivots in direction and the storylines for most matches not being fleshed out, according to many.
John Cena, who hosted WrestleMania 42, even acknowledged this in front of the live crowd by stating that the build was polarising, but then went on to say that any doubts should be put to bed because the aggregate attendance record at the venue crossed 100,000 over two nights.
This must have come as a relief to WWE and its owners, TKO, who were worried that WrestleMania 42 tickets were underselling and introduced major discounts at the last minute, along with including celebrities like former WWE commentator and NFL punter Pat McAfee in the storylines to try and sell more tickets.
Many analysts and fans blame Triple H for the underwhelming booking and creative work and name him the reason for WrestleMania 42’s polarising reception and the WWE product’s overall reception over the past several months. So much so that many of them are waiting to see him get fired from his position and replaced by someone who can change the direction of the content.
Former WWE talent Johnathan Coachman recently said on Coach & Bro that he spoke to a friend who gave him one scenario in which they could fire Triple H from his position.
Johnathan Coachman Reveals Conversation With Close Wrestling Friend About WWE CCO Triple H
Despite all the online backlash WWE has received, it is still reportedly doing well in terms of generating revenue.
Night 2 of WrestleMania 42 was very well received and gave the company a much-needed boost in critical reception for the product.
However, TKO Group is reportedly in millions of dollars of debt and owns multiple properties, such as WWE and UFC, which it will have to generate revenue from to help clear said debts.
Johnathan Coachman touched on this point and recently said on an episode of Coach & Bro that his friend from the wrestling business told him that only a dip in profits would be the reason Triple H gets fired from his position as WWE’s CCO.
I had somebody I respect a lot in the business, who knows a lot, texted me yesterday, Vince (He said to Vince Russo).
And they said to me, the first moment, first month, first week, that they lose money in any way, shape, or form, that will be the moment that Triple H gets booted out. (1:22:54 onwards).
