Jon Moxley Faces Another Title Eliminator On AEW Dynamite

Jon Moxley

Jon Moxley will have his hands full again on AEW Dynamite as another star tries to stake their claim for a shot at the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship.

Back in April at Windy City Riot, Jon Moxley won the IWGP World Heavyweight Title from Tetsuya Naito to become the first man to ever have held the IWGP World, AEW, and WWE Championships during his career.

Since then Jon Moxley has defended his title against the likes of Powerhouse Hobbs, Ren Narita, and his own protégé Shota Umino. At Double Or Nothing, Moxley faced a title eliminator match against Konosuke Takeshita, meaning that if Takeshita won then he’d be in line for a shot at Moxley’s championship.

However, Jon Moxley was able to overcome Takeshita’s challenge and now it’s been confirmed that he will face another title eliminator match on the May 29th edition of Dynamite. Tony Khan took to social media to reveal that Moxley will face Rocky Romero on the show:

Wednesday Night #AEWDynamite TOMORROW @thekiaforum Los Angeles 8pm ET/7pm CT, TBS IWGP World Heavyweight Title Eliminator @JonMoxley vs @azucarRoc Officially on the Path to AEW/NJPW #ForbiddenDoor, days after scoring a win at #AEWDoN, MOX will fight @azucarroc TOMORROW NIGHT!

Romero was seen briefly at Double Or Nothing as he tried to engage with Trent Beretta after Beretta had lost to Orange Cassidy.

There will be more Forbidden Door implications on Dynamite as a Casino Gauntlet match will take place to find the number one contender for the AEW World Championship at the cross-brand pay-per-view.
