John Cena’s Time In WWE “Still Limited”

John Cena WWE

John Cena returned to WWE television on Raw in Boston where he was challenged to a huge WrestleMania match against Austin Theory and questions have been raised over how often Cena will be available to appear on TV in the run-up to the event.

John Cena previously hit out at industry “experts” who suggested given his movie commitments – such as filming Ricky Stanicky in Australia – would stop him from returning to WWE for WrestleMania.

While Cena is clearly going to make a splash in Los Angeles on the 1st or 2nd of April when he competes on The Grandest Stage Of Them All for the first time since 2020, he might not be on Raw every week between now and then.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that Cena’s time on WWE television could still be limited due to other movie commitments:

“That movie was done on the [March] fourth, that movie was done last weekend, but he’s got another movie he’s starting up on. So his time is still limited. It’s not like he’s going to be on TV every Monday or Friday or anything. When he’s free, he’ll be there.”

Should John Cena defeat Austin Theory at WrestleMania, he will tie yet another record with Ric Flair as he would become a six-time United States Champion.
