John Cena Receives Huge Praise From WWE Hall Of Famer
A WWE Hall of Famer has showered praise on John Cena.
Cena has had a monumental 2025 in wrestling, which is also his final year in the business.
At the 2024 Money in the Bank, he announced his retirement from the profession and that 2025 would be his last.
The World Wrestling Entertainment allotted him 36 dates, out of which he has fulfilled 25. His next appearance will be during the SmackDown show in Dublin on August 22.
Spending a majority of the year as a heel, John Cena sporadically reverted to his babyface persona going into SummerSlam, where he was scheduled to face Cody Rhodes in a Street Fight.
In a match that received high ratings, the 17-time world champion suffered a defeat to The American Nightmare.
WWE legend and Hall of Famer Rikishi recently reviewed Cena’s SummerSlam match on his Off the Top podcast, where he was all praises for the former champion.
That’s an icon. Future Hall of Famer, the man that did it all, held it down for 15 years, you know. My biggest, humble respect and thank you to John Cena. Thank you for being the leader. Thank you for showing those that when you step up in that position, how it’s supposed to be. Carry it with dignity, respect, and honor of the WWE brand, and you as a person, as a professional wrestler. I hope to see you soon, my man. See you down the road. [H/T Fightful]
John Cena Admits To Failure During His First Heel Appearance
John Cena shocked the WWE Universe when he turned on Cody Rhodes at Elimination Chamber.
On the subsequent RAW episode, he lambasted the fans, even singling out a child, for their frequently changing demands, calling their relationship ‘toxic.’
During an appearance at Fan Expo Chicago, Cena spoke about the audience’s reaction that night. He admitted to failing them as a heel.
I wasn’t upset. No, I failed… Ain’t nothing wrong with that. You can learn from failure, right? I went up there and bombed. Sh*t happens.
In other news, John Cena has found himself an opponent at Clash in Paris. Find out who that is here.
