John Cena Breaks Social Media Silence After Major WWE Star Gets Unmasked

Even John Cena couldn’t resist himself from reacting to a major WWE star’s recent unmasking.

Last year, when Chad Gable was in the middle of his feud with Rey Mysterio, he decided to go to Mexico to learn the art of lucha libre. He returned with a new gimmick called El Grande Americano. While it was quickly evident that it was Gable under the mask, the former Tag Team Champion denied it. He appeared as himself and as El Grande Americano on TV. This continued until Gable suffered an injury that sidelined him for several months.

In his absence, Ludwig Kaiser took on the role of El Grande Americano. He played the role to perfection and even spoke Spanish during his promos. Kaiser added Rayo and Bravo Americano and formed his own faction. However, at the 2026 Royal Rumble, Chad Gable returned from his injury and started calling himself the Original El Grande Americano. This kickstarted the battle of the Americanos. Over the next few months, both men tried to prove that they were the only Americano in WWE.

This feud even spilled over into AAA, where both men were making frequent appearances. With each passing week, this feud grew more heated. Therefore, to settle their differences, both men agreed to compete in a mask vs. mask match at AAA Noche de Los Grandes on 30th May 2026. These two men stole the show at the event and delivered an instant classic match. The Original El Grande Americano was even busted open during the encounter. After a hard-fought battle, El Grande Americano was able to triumph over the Original El Grande Americano. As per the stipulation of the match, the Original Americano had to unmask himself and reveal his identity. The Original Americano graciously declared the former Ludwig Kaiser as the only Americano before he took off his mask to reveal that he is, in fact, Chad Gable. This match and feud have been the talk of the industry in recent times, and the match was also replayed at the end of RAW on Netflix.
