Joe Hendry Lists His Dream Opponents In IMPACT Wrestling

Joe Hendry

After four years away, Joe Hendry has returned to motivate IMPACT Wrestling and he already has several top stars in his sights.

Over the last few weeks, IMPACT Wrestling has aired a series of hilarious vignettes hyping the return of Scottish star Joe Hendry, who last appeared for the promotion in 2018.

During an interview with Liam Alexander-Stewart of Inside The Ropes ahead of his in-ring return at Bound For Glory, Hendry discussed the opponents he is looking forward to facing in the promotion.

“If you’re giving me the option, Brian Myers is who I want to face. I would like to do something with him for the Digital Media Championship.

“That’s what I think would be most entertaining for the fans but on a personal selfish level, two guys that have really sort of taken me under their wing.

“Eric Young I would say is the main one for me, we were on a show together in Germany and he’s just been amazing for advice and even just to be around.

“Him and Frankie Kazarian were amazing to be around to just absorb that knowledge. I’ve been fortunate enough to be around these guys and just hear them tell the stories and give lessons and give their perspective on the business.”

Joe Hendry went on to mention Sami Callihan and Eric Young before hinting at potentially joining the X Division, saying he could be the “strong dude” there.

“So you know, I would love to work Frankie for sure and Eric Young as well. That’s another one, Sami Callihan is like an unbelievable performer and the way he tells stories, there’s just something magical about his matches.

“You know, Steve Macklin seems like a badass to me. I think I could have fun in the X Division as well. I can do suplexes on multiple people, I think I could be the strong dude in the X Division.”

In his first match back, Joe Hendry take part in the Call Your Shot Gauntlet at Bound For Glory on October 7th. The bout begins as a 20-person intergender Battle Royal.

When the final two competitors are in the ring, it becomes a standard singles match. The winner recieves a trophy and is entitled to a title match of their choosing within a year of their victory.

The event will also see Mickie James put her career on the line against Mia Yim, while Josh Alexander defends the IMPACT Championship against Honor No More’s Eddie Edwards.
