Jade Cargill put on arguably her best performance in WWE at WrestleMania 42.

On Night 2 of the Showcase of the Immortals on April 19, Cargill was scheduled to defend the Women’s WWE Championship against Rhea Ripley.

Ripley earned the right to challenge for the title by winning the Women’s Elimination Chamber match in February, outlasting Alexa Bliss, Asuka, Raquel Rodriguez, Tiffany Stratton, and Kiana James.

Since then, the duo had been feuding, which first started via multiple social media posts, where Jade Cargill accused the Eradicator of using her backstage influence to climb the ladder.

Ripley hit back by calling out the champion over her jealousy. The outlandish claims from Cargill forced other female wrestlers like Chelsea Green and Piper Niven to speak in defense of the Australian superstar.

The next couple of weeks saw them trade verbal jabs through in-ring segments on SmackDown. The Storm then aligned with her former rivals, Michin and B-Fab, who ganged up on Rhea a couple of times before she got help from IYO SKY.

On Sunday, Rhea Ripley had every intention to become a 4-time Women’s Champion, while Jade Cargill hoped to retain her belt by hook or by crook.

Despite interference from B-Fab and Michin, Ripley managed to defeat Cargill, becoming the SmackDown Women’s Champion for a second time.

The bout also saw Cargill use Kenny Omega’s One-Winged Angel on her opponent, although the commentators called it Sandstorm. Later, the AEW star took to X, sharing his thoughts about that particular WrestleMania moment.

Jade Cargill Vows To Reclaim The Women’s WWE Championship

Jade Cargill has set her future goals in WWE following her WrestleMania 42 loss to Rhea Ripley, which ended her 169-day title reign.

The 33-year-old superstar recently appeared on 8 News Now Las Vegas, where she acknowledged her defeat but made it clear that things between her and Ripley were far from over.

You know what? It’s okay, because I’m going to get my revenge and get that rematch.

Jade also spoke about wrestling on Night 2 of WrestleMania for the first time, noting that she had been previously featured on Night 1 only.

She also recalled the audience firmly being in favour of Ripley, but she ensured not to let it affect her performance.

I’ve never been featured on Night Two, I’ve always been on Night One so this is my first time on Night Two. I think we did a stellar job. I think my entrance was amazing. I think the energy at Allegiant Stadium was electric. It was cool, I liked it. The crowd was coming for me, they hated me, I love that for me. Keep hating me. But it was cool, I really liked it, the atmosphere was amazing. Okay, I didn’t deliver, but I’m going to get that rematch. [H/T: WrestlingNews.co]

On the April 20 episode of Raw, Rhea Ripley was featured in an emotional backstage segment, where she said goodbye to IYO SKY before joining SmackDown as the Women’s Champion.

Whether or not Jade Cargill confronts her on Friday remains to be seen.
