A legend on the WWE roster gave Jacob Fatu some important advice.

Jacob Fatu has had an impressive run in WWE since joining the company nearly 2 years ago. Fatu debuted on the main roster without going the NXT route, as he was an experienced wrestler from the independents who also regularly appeared in promotions like MLW.

After debuting as a heel in Solo Sikoa’s failed version of The Bloodline, Fatu became a breakout singles star who turned babyface and also won the United States Championship.

In his current role on SmackDown, Jacob Fatu headlined the February 13th episode against Cody Rhodes and Sami Zayn in an Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match. Even though Drew McIntyre ruined the match, Rhodes emerged as the winner.

Jacob Fatu Feels Comfortable Wrestling Shirtless Thanks To AJ Styles

Since returning to WWE after a few months off at the end of 2025, Jacob has dedicated himself to getting in better shape. While speaking to Busted Open Radio, Jacob Fatu admits he didn’t feel comfortable wrestling without a shirt on, but after AJ Styles saw him with his improved look, Fatu decided to wrestle shirtless.

“I want to shout out AJ Styles. He seen me at Saturday Night’s Main [Event] and he seen the transformation and he was just like, ‘Dude, are you freaking finna wear a shirt out there?’ I was just like, ‘Yeah.’ He was like, ‘Dude, you freaking got abs. I’d go out there with no shirt. What are you doing?’

So shout out to AJ, baby. Y’all know what I mean? Congratulations on the retirement. But it was cause of him, man, why I took it. I was ashamed to take it off… And, man, when the Phenomenal One says, ‘Hey man, I would do this,’ then okay, I’m gonna listen.”

Jacob Fatu went on to discuss staying in shape.

“Let’s keep it real, somebody like me coming in, seven kids, man, getting this type of dough, I’m not saying I’m rich, but you know, man, it’s a little different, you know? I’m at Waffle House every day, like, I’m going crazy.

But I feel like I believe, and I know it was God’s timing on what happened. I missed out on a lot of opportunities, but then again, I had to double back when I came back.”
