February 28 is the date of WWE’s upcoming Elimination Chamber premium live event, which will be held at the United Center in Chicago, and many people are speculating that the mystery crate could be linked to the return of Chris Jericho. According to the rumors, when WWE opens the mystery box, Jericho could pop out.

Chris Jericho Is Not Inside The Mystery Crate, says Bully Ray

While discussing the mystery box on a recent episode of the Busted Open podcast, Bully Ray claimed that Jericho is not inside the crate, as he is currently touring in Europe. He added that he doesn’t think the mystery crate storyline has anything to do with Y2J or his return.

Jericho’s AEW contract was reportedly set to expire at the end of 2025, but he is still listed on the official AEW roster page. Fightful Select later revealed that Jericho froze his contract in mid-2025 while touring with Fozzy, which legally extended the time he must remain under contract with the promotion.

WWE is reportedly very interested in bringing Jericho back for a retirement tour once he officially becomes a free agent.
