Injured AEW Star Could Miss Another Five Months

AEW Logo over roster

One AEW star won’t be back in the ring anytime soon.

On December 16th, Bandido announced that he’d undergone a second surgery on a wrist injury. The Mexican star hasn’t wrestled since losing out to Konosuke Takeshita back in June, later revealing that he’d sustained a wrist injury that required surgery.

However, his recovery took a hit when it was discovered that the initial surgery didn’t fix the problem.

Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer stated that Bandido isn’t expected back in the ring until May 2024, although some are hopeful he’ll return in April.

“Bandido had his second wrist surgery on 12/16. As noted previously, his left wrist didn’t heal properly from the first surgery. He had considered not having surgery but then he would be working the rest of his career on a messed up wrist. The time line for a return we were told is probably May but hopeful for April.”

Thunder Rosa To Return From Injury On AEW Collision

Thunder Rosa hasn’t wrestled in well over a year with her most recent match coming in August 2022. At the time it was reported that the star was dealing with a back injury, although it later came to light that the issue was more serious than initially thought.

However, it’s been announced that Thunder Rosa will be back in action on the December 23rd episode of AEW Collision. Rosa made her return to AEW TV on December 16th, coming to the aid of Abadon as she was attacked by Julia Hart and Skye Blue. On Collision, Rosa will team up with Abadon to get revenge on the pair.
