WWE received a major warning after the latest twist in the masked man storyline.

The Vision has been the target of several attacks by a mysterious masked man. Last night on SmackDown, he struck again during Logan Paul’s match against Jacob Fatu. Nevertheless, he was finally caught by The Maverick, who unmasked him.

While many speculated the man under the mask could be Seth Rollins or Grayson Waller, he turned out to be a random person. Even Joe Tessitore wondered who he was.

It was later revealed that the person behind the mask was independent wrestler Don Furio, who trained at Rollins’ Black & Brave Wrestling Academy. He also competed once in AEW four years ago.

WWE Analyst Hopes Don Furio Is A Fake Masked Man

On his Notsam Wrestling podcast, WWE analyst Sam Roberts discussed the recent developments in the masked man storyline. He warned that it would be a shame if the company decided to pull the plug on the angle in such a way after Bronson Reed’s injury on RAW.

The 42-year-old also suggested it could be a fake masked man sent out by Drew McIntyre as a distraction to allow him to take out Jacob Fatu with the WWE title belt.

Now, first things first, I’m praying that that wasn’t actually them throwing out this whole masked man story. I believe that that was a fake masked man that was put up to it by Drew McIntyre. It would be a horrible shame if because Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker are both injured, they don’t have anywhere to go with this masked man thing. So, they figure, ‘Okay, whatever. We’ll have him come out. He actually kinda sucks and we’ll just unmask him and he’s just some local talent.’

Like, it almost felt like they were portraying it like it was a fan had jumped out of the crowd with a mask on. So, I pray that that’s not actually the masked man. I’m really hoping that that’s Drew McIntyre that set that up as a distraction because while the referee was distracted by that, Drew McIntyre was able to hit Jacob Fatu with the belt. [9:41 onwards]
