“He Should Be Fired” – Wade Barrett Demands WWE Official’s Dismissal
Wade Barrett made a serious request to WWE during SmackDown.
The latest edition of the blue brand saw Damian Priest and R-Truth put the WWE Tag Team Championship on the line against The Miz and Kit Wilson. Things took a drastic turn once Danhausen made his presence felt.
The former AEW star tried to insert himself into the match by asking The Miz for the tag, but was rejected by The A-Lister. R-Truth obliged, leading to Danhausen entering the ring. After The Miz told Danhausen to leave, the latter looked to curse him. Unfortunately, referee Dan Engler got pulled in front of The Miz and was cursed instead.
Danhausen then avoided a Skull Crushing Finale and ran to the backstage area. In the closing moments of the match, R-Truth dropped Kit Wilson with the AA, but The Miz swooped in with the Skull Crushing Finale. In a shocking twist, Engler couldn’t count to three with his right hand due to Danhausen’s curse.
The chaos allowed Damian Priest to tag himself in, and he hit South Of Heaven Chokeslam on The Miz. Referee Dan Engler used his left hand this time around, allowing Priest and R-Truth to retain their titles
Post-match, Wade Barrett, in character, expressed his displeasure with how things went down, and he even asked for Engler’s firing.
“What is the referee doing? There is no curse! Use your hands, referee. He’s a cheat. This referee, Dan Engler, he should be fired instantly.”
Wade Barrett opens on a potential match with top WWE star
During a recent interview with Metro, Wade Barrett confessed that a match with Drew McIntyre would be difficult to turn down if an offer comes in. He, however, admitted that the bout will “destroy” him physically.
That would be a difficult one to turn down, I’m not gonna lie.
I think physically, it would destroy me for good, because Drew’s a bit of a beast in that ring, he’s a nasty piece of work when he wants to be.
Back in my day, I could give as good as I got. I don’t know if I could still give as good as I would get from Drew. So, if that one did happen, hard to turn down, but that probably would be the end, the big goodbye.
It will be interesting to see if Barrett returns to the ring for one final match against The Scottish Psychopath someday.
