Last week, the WWE Universe found out that Gunther is going to be Seth Rollins’ opponent at WWE WrestleMania 42 this year.

The match was booked after The Ring General attacked The Visionary on the March 30, 2026 episode of Monday Night Raw at Madison Square Garden, following Rollins’ return to the show after getting medical clearance from a months-long injury layoff.

The segment saw Rollins interrupt Paul Heyman’s promo and attack him with a steel chair. As Rollins was about to deliver a stomp to Heyman on a chair, The Career Killer showed up out of nowhere and dragged him out of the ring to choke him out with a sleeper hold on top of the announce table.

On this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw (April 6), Seth Rollins opened the show to address the vicious attack from Gunther. He vowed to take out his attacker at WrestleMania, kill The Vision, and reclaim his championship. Moments later, Gunther snuck into the ring, and the two had a chaotic brawl.

Becky Lynch Is Upset With Gunther For Attacking her Husband, Seth Rollins

Following the Monday Night Raw episode, Rollins’ wife, Becky Lynch, logged on to her Twitter account to revoke Gunther’s Bexxie Award, which he received earlier in February. Lynch also put a “possible lifetime ban” on The Ring General for attacking her “hot husband.”

Lynch tweeted, “I hereby revoke Gunther of his Bexxie award! Possible lifetime ban! How dare you sneak attack my hot husband!”

Later on the Raw show, Gunther ran into Heyman, who thanked him for saving him from Rollins’ ambush the previous week. Heyman admitted that he was confused as to why The Ring general chose to come to his aid.

The Career Killer responded, saying that the situation was personal to him. He then shook Heyman’s hand and, pulling him close, said that the Wise Man now owes him a very big thank you.
