Future Of NXT Women’s Title Revealed

Indi Hartwell NXT Women's Champion

The 2023 WWE Draft is now in the books and while it gave Raw and SmackDown the chance to reset their rosters, it was not the greatest time for NXT who lost several stars.

On night one of the WWE Draft, both the NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn were drafted to SmackDown while the brand’s Women’s Champion Indi Hartwell will now ply her trade on Monday Night Raw. Incidentally, that means she will be on the same brand again as her storyline husband Dexter Lumis, and her former partners in The Way, Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae.

However, on the 2nd of May edition of NXT television, Indi Hartwell addressed her championship and revealed that moving forward a tournament will take place to crown a new NXT Women’s Champion as she relinquished the title. The tournament will begin next week and will conclude at Battleground on May 28th.

With that Hartwell placed the title on the ground and wearing a medical boot due to her injury the prior week, she wondered who could possibly help her out of the ring. Dexter Lumis then appeared from under the ring and carried his wife off to the WWE main roster. Meanwhile, the NXT women’s division brawled in the ring with both Cora Jade and Tiffany Stratton grabbing the title belt Hartwell left behind.
