Forgotten WWE Tag Team Champion Heading To Performance Center

A former WWE Tag Team Champion is heading to the Performance Center with a return to the company in the works after 20 years.

The WWE Performance Center is where the company puts its new recruits through their paces, training them to be the superstars of tomorrow. The coaching staff at the PC is littered with former wrestling stars under the direction of Head Coach Matt Bloom, best known to fans as Albert.

The PC has also given the chance for other veterans to come in as guest coaches, and it seems a former WWE Tag Team Champion is going to be the latest of these.

Doug Basham Returning To WWE

PWInsider has reported that there is a belief at the Performance Center that Doug Basham will be appearing as a guest coach within the next month.

Doug Basham is currently part of Ohio Valley Wrestling and still competes for the promotion at the age of 54. He is best known to wrestling fans for being one-half of the Basham Brothers tag team alongside Danny Basham. The Bashams held the WWE Tag Team Championship on two occasions, with one of those wins coming while they were JBL’s Secretaries of Defence in his Cabinet.

Doug Basham remained part of the company’s roster until December 2005 and had a short-lived revival as part of the ECW brand in 2006.
