Ex-WWE Star Wants To Wrestle Again Despite Leg Amputation
A controversial former WWE star wants to get back in the ring despite having one of their legs amputated.
During his WCW career, Buff Bagwell was a five-time WCW Tag Team Champion as he ascended the ranks from the fresh-faced Marcus Alexander Bagwell to the NWO’s resident loudmouth. Bagwell was briefly part of WWE after WCW closed its doors in 2001, but he was famously fired after refusing to come to work.
Over the years, Bagwell has made many headlines, mostly for the wrong reasons, but fans were saddened to hear that he’d been forced to have part of his leg amputated in 2025. In a video posted on YouTube, Bagwell said that a car accident he had in August 2020 caved in his right patellar tendon, which led to nearly 40 surgeries over five years. That led to staph infections and lengthy hospital stays. Bagwell explained that it led to depression and ultimately is what caused the amputation.
But now he’s making a recovery and has not ruled out getting back in the ring.
Ex-WWE Star Buff Bagwell Aiming To Wrestle Again
Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Buff Bagwell explained that he’s made wrestling again one of his goals as he gets used to his change of circumstances, but insists he’ll only do it if he really can:
I know I could wrestle again, another match or two, but if I can’t do it, I’m not going to do it. And I’m not sure that’s possible… I think I can do it where it’s not ugly.
I just don’t know yet, so we’re definitely going to, in the next couple of months, I’m going to get in the ring and just see what I can do. But I really do think no matter what, I will do one match just because that’s one of my goals.
Buff Bagwell last competed in the ring in 2024 for Memphis Wrestling.
