Ex-WWE Star Reveals Truth Behind TNA Visa Chaos
A former WWE star has lifted the lid on what’s really going on with the visa issues plaguing TNA.
TNA Genesis recently took place on pay-per-view, but the company was forced to make some major last-minute changes to the card. X-Division Champion Leon Slater was pulled from his planned title defence against Moose and Cedric Alexander, while Dani Luna could not compete in her planned title match against TNA Knockouts Champion Lei Ying Lee. The company announced that visa issues were to blame.
WWE was accused of forcing TNA to pull Slater from the show so they could use him on its European tour, but it seems the visa issue is a real one, and it’s also affecting producer and former WWE Intercontinental Champion, Lance Storm.
Lance Storm Opens Up About TNA Visa Mess
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Live, Lance Storm revealed why he’s currently blocked from working in the USA for TNA, much like Dani Luna and Leon Slater are:
I’m a person who requires a work visa to be in the States, and unfortunately, I’m a victim, along with Dani Luna and Leon Slater.
I don’t know when it started, and I hope people don’t get mad that I’m going inside baseball a little bit. When I was with WWE and WCW, they got you a P1A which is an individual visa. Impact, I’ve been here four years now, they do a P1B which is a group and has many names attached to a single visa and you get approved as a group. As far as me and the current people, it’s an all or nothing situation.
Storm suggested that the US government shutdown is to blame, as well as President Trump’s attitude toward immigration, for the delays:
I believe they were shut down for 45 days, so that puts us behind in time. There have also been statements that Trump has demanded that all immigration paperwork and visas be scrutinised and looked at closer before approval.
