Ex-WWE Champion Teases Return Months After Shocking Departure
This former WWE star could make a return, as teased by some recent developments.
In 2025, Paul Heyman appeared on the Ariel Helwani show and praised one star in particular, claiming that his rise was similar to the legendary Stone Cold Steve Austin’s.
The star in question is Karrion Kross, who was one of the most over wrestlers in WWE in 2025. After a successful run in NXT, and an NXT Championship run, he was part of many high-profile segments and became a fan favourite.
As with many wrestlers who are organically over with fans like LA Knight, WWE treads with caution, and with Kross, they didn’t go all in. From Heyman’s perspective, WWE wanted to see fans who already wanted Kross to succeed want it even more, so they reserved his push.
He even praised Kross’ wife, Scarlett Bordeaux, who played his on-screen manager.
It’s organic. It reminds me of someone else, by the way, that was in WWE that the audience felt ‘This is our guy. We like this act. We’d like him to be a bigger star. Why aren’t you making him a bigger star? D*mn it, make him a bigger star. We’re going to chant his name, we’re going to bring his signs. We’re going to buy his T-shirts, we’re going to demand that you make him a bigger star.’ That guy’s name was Steve Austin.
However, Kross would be let go by the company in the summer of 2025 despite all of his positive reception after two back-to-back losses against Sami Zayn at major PLEs.
WWE Star Karion “Killer” Kross Gets A Mysterious Text From Paul Heyman
During an interview with Monopoly Events, Karrion Kross was interrupted by a text that he couldn’t take his eyes off.
The host, Jamal Niaz, who wasn’t sure if Kross was listening, took a glance at his phone to find out that it was indeed The Oracle Paul Heyman, and proceeded to let everyone know after asking for Kross’ permission to disclose who it was.
The contents of the message have not been disclosed, so it remains to be seen if Kross was getting a text regarding a planned return to WWE.
Meanwhile, Kross is the MLW World Heavyweight Champion and has continued to wrestle in other promotions under his original ring name “Killer Kross”.
