Ex-AEW World Champion Chris Jericho is rumored to return to WWE in 2026.

At the beginning of this year, it was reported that Jericho’s contract with AEW had ended, and he became a free agent. He was speculated to make his WWE return at the first Raw show of 2026, which was a Stranger Things-themed episode. However, it didn’t happen.

Now, fans are waiting for the Royal Rumble, which will take place on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at the King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as part of Riyadh Season, where Jericho is rumored to show up.

Ex-WWE star David Otunga recently sat down for an interview with TMZ Sports, where he made a wild pitch, saying that Chris Jericho should win the men’s Royal Rumble match.

The former Nexus member stated that if Jericho returns at the Royal Rumble and enters the Rumble match, then he should be the one to win it. If not, then he should at least start a feud with someone to kick off his Road to WrestleMania journey:

“If Jericho shows up at Royal Rumble, he has to win or somebody screws him out of the win and that goes into the story. I think that would be awesome. I think that would be perfect,” Otunga said.

WWE Legend Chris Jericho Announced Fozzy Tour in February 2026

Chris Jericho has recently announced that his band, Fozzy, will be touring the UK in February 2026.

It will be a 13‑date tour under the banner of the ‘Eyes On You’ Tour, hitting big cities across England, Scotland, and Wales, with shows scheduled almost every night from early to late February 2026. This means, if Jericho returns at the Royal Rumble, then he might have to go away for a month because of his Fozzy tour.
