A former AEW World Champion competed on Collision after 30 months.

On June 13, Kenny Omega kicked off the show from the Andrew J Brady Music Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. Omega’s challenger in the singles match was Bad Dude Tito.

While both wrestlers exchanged offenses, it was ultimately Omega who secured the victory inside five minutes by hitting his One-Winged Angel finisher.

After the match, he addressed being challenged by New Japan Pro-Wrestling star Zack Sabre Jr. for a match at Forbidden Door, scheduled on June 28.

The AEW star sent a message to MJF as well. They had previously fought for the world championship at Dynasty, where MJF emerged victorious in a nearly 40-minute war.

The 42-year-old’s Collision appearance on Saturday was his first since December 2023. In his last match on the brand on December 9, 2023, Omega defeated Ethan Page in a singles match in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Thekla’s Forbidden Door Challenger Revealed On AEW Collision

Over the last several days, AEW Women’s World Champion Thekla has appeared unhinged during her promos.

On June 3, she brought up Forbidden Door in her promo, while also addressing the involvement of Stardom as the pay-per-view’s co-producer.

In 2025, Thekla was fired from Stardom after she attacked the promotion’s president, Taro Okada, following her loss to Sayaka Kurara.

On Dynamite, Thekla proceeded to berate the Japanese company’s roster before spitting on its logo, prompting defensive reactions from the commentators.

The latest Collision taping on June 13 again saw Thekla interrupt a segment where commentator Tony Schiavone was apologizing to Stardom. In doing so, she said that none of the wrestlers on Stardom’s roster deserved her respect.

She then challenged anyone from the Japanese company to come to Forbidden Door and compete for her AEW Women’s World Championship.

The 33-year-old also took a direct swipe at Taro Okada, inviting him to be a part of the evening and telling him to witness firsthand the kind of monster he had created.

Later, it was announced that Stardom’s Starlight Kid would challenge Thekla for the world title.

While the two superstars faced each other in numerous tag team matches, their last singles match took place at Stardom 5STAR Grand Prix 2023, where Starlight Kid beat Thekla.
