Ex-AEW Star Thanks Tony Khan Despite Firing

Tony Khan at AEW media scrum

AEW has made surprise cuts to its roster and now one star affected by the situation has paid tribute to Tony Khan.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported that several members of the AEW roster have been cut by Tony Khan in a marked change to how AEW deals with exits from the company.

Dasha, Jose The Assistant, Jora Johl, Anthony Henry, The Boys, Gravity, Stu Grayson, Parker Boudreaux, and Slim J have all been let go according to the report.

Most of those let go had either not been used on TV in quite some time or had been a part of the Ring of Honor roster. Jose The Assistant was originally aligned on TV with Andrade El Idolo during his stint in AEW and had also been seen with La Faccion Ingorbernable.

Gravity Thanks Tony Khan For AEW Run

Now taking to social media, Gravity posted in English and Spanish, thanking AEW and Tony Khan (although tagging the wrong one) for his time in the company:

I just can say thank you @aewand thank you Mr.@tonyrkhanfor this time in the company! I am grateful for the moments I was able to experience being within the company and for all the learning I took away! It’s time to continue my path and see what destiny has for me!

Tony Khan’s management of AEW has been called into question by CM Punk. CM Punk claimed AEW is not a real business and Tony Khan is not a real boss during a bombshell interview where he discussed his ill-fated time in the company.
