Ethan Page Attacks Teammate On WWE NXT; Steals The Win In A Wild 8-Man Tag
WWE NXT had an explosive opening tonight as Tony D’Angelo kicked off the show to celebrate his recent NXT title win with the fans in attendance. However, his celebration was interrupted on multiple occasions.
He was confronted by all three men he defeated at Stand and Deliver, who were seeking a rematch for the title, before DarkState jumped all four in the middle of the ring.
The ensuing brawl created chaos throughout the arena before Robert Stone announced a huge 8-man tag team match between DarkState and the team of D’Angelo, Joe Hendry, Ricky Saints, and Ethan Page.
The match saw DarkState dominate more of the bout as they were a cohesive team, while their opponents all had issues with one another. Whenever D’Angelo and the others worked together, they got the upper hand, but it didn’t happen that often.
Tony D’Angelo remains standing after a brutal NXT match
Hendry was isolated for a long time by DarkState before he managed to reach for a tag, but Page and Saints both backed down while D’Angelo, the only person Hendry got along with on the team, was distracted. This put his team on even more of a back foot.
The referee was occupied with Saints and Page while Dion Lennox struck Hendry with a strong right hand. Just after that, though, he was taken out by Myles Borne, whom he attacked at Stand and Deliver.
Borne’s intervention helped the Stand and Deliver main eventers, and they turned the tide on DarkState. D’Angleo hit Shaquan Shugars with a Spear and a Dead to Rights, but Ethan Page stole the tag from the NXT Champion.
He took him out with a kick to the head and hit the Twisted Grin on Shugars to get the win for his team. However, D’Angleo snuck up behind Ethan and got him Dead to Rights to stand tall in the ring.
