Drew McIntyre May Defend WWE Title In All-Star Fatal 4-Way At WrestleMania

Drew McIntyre interfered in the Elimination Chamber men’s match and dug his own grave.

The one thing The Scottish Warrior kept saying was that he did not want to face Cody Rhodes in a championship match. However, once he interfered in the men’s match, Nick Aldis took strict action.

The SmackDown GM has announced Cody Rhodes vs. Drew McIntyre for the Undisputed WWE Championship for the upcoming episode of WWE SmackDown.

Drew McIntyre can still enter WrestleMania 42 as the Undisputed WWE Champion

Since Randy Orton won the men’s match, he will be a part of the Undisputed WWE Championship match at WrestleMania 42. Now, since Rhodes was supposed to be a part of the WrestleMania matchcard, the speculation is that he will dethrone McIntyre on SmackDown.

On Notsam Wrestling, Sam Roberts reflected on a situation where The American Nightmare does not dethrone The Scottish Warrior. Instead, Jacob Fatu and Randy Orton get involved in the match on Friday, leading to a Fatal Four-Way at WrestleMania 42.

There’s a version of this where Cody doesn’t win the title. Very much so. There’s a version of this where not only does Cody not win the title, but maybe Randy is involved, maybe Jacob is involved. Like, you could go to WrestleMania with a Fatal Four-Way. You could go to WrestleMania with Cody versus Drew versus Randy versus Jacob. And that’s how you get there without taking the title off of Drew McIntyre.
I personally think that unpredictability needs to continue on. And I think that if you have Randy win the Elimination Chamber for the purpose of crafting a multi-man match, I think it would be fun.

I think the multi-man match is one way to go. It’s just there’s no way right now, based on what we saw at the Chamber. I don’t believe that there’s any way to get to just simply Cody Rhodes versus Drew McIntyre. Randy Orton has to be fighting for that WWE Championship.

The WrestleMania 42 match card so far has three confirmed matches. Friday Night SmackDown will decide the fourth world championship match.
