Drew McIntyre recently teased the in-ring return of ex-TNA World Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis.

McIntyre and Nick Aldis have been feuding since 2025.

In November 2025, Aldis officially suspended McIntyre after the Scottish Warrior interfered in a match between Cody Rhodes and Aleister Black, where he knocked out a referee with a Claymore Kick. In response, McIntyre called Aldis a corporate stooge and a “clown in a suit” on social media.

Then, in February 2026, Drew McIntyre threatened to take legal action against Aldis for breach of contract after he granted Cody Rhodes a rematch for the Undisputed WWE Championship, even though Rhodes didn’t win the Royal Rumble or Elimination Chamber.

Following his growing frustration with Nick Aldis and WWE management, McIntyre quit WWE on the March 13, 2026, episode of SmackDown after he had an argument with Nick Aldis.

This rising tension between Nick Aldis and Drew McIntyre has led the WWE Universe to believe that Aldis could return to the ring and make his WWE in-ring debut against McIntyre later this year.

Drew McIntyre Wants To Face Nick Aldis In A Match

Drew McIntyre recently addressed his beef with Aldis in a recent interview on Chris Van Vliet’s “Insight” podcast, stating that he would like to go one-on-one with Nick Aldis.

“Every time we go back and forth, you can feel the tension. You can cut it with a knife. We’ve known each other a long time. I name-dropped his son because I have known him for that long.

But what a corporate stooge he is, his Donovan must be ashamed of him having such a corporate stooge for a father instead of backing me, the one who’s in the right and the one that he’s known for years, and his one is his actual friend. So when the time is right, be it Mania, be after Mania.

I think we should have a match, and I don’t think there should be any sanctioning around it. I don’t think anyone should be allowed to interfere. He tapes up the fists. He’s been up in the ring a long time. He thinks he can go with a four-time former world champion in WWE in the big leagues.

He’s probably the greatest NWA champion of the modern era, since Billy took over NWA. But he’s not been in there for a long time. He’s a big guy. I would love to get in there with him, and I’d love to see what damage I could do, and no one’s allowed to interfere, then come up close and ask me to stop politely.”

Aldis has wrestled for top wrestling promotions like TNA and Impact Wrestling. His last match took place in October 2023.
