Dominik Mysterio’s Godfather Has WWE Backstage Heat With Triple H

WWE Triple H

Konnan is the godfather of Dominik Mysterio, and apparently, he has backstage heat with WWE’s Chief Content Officer, Triple H.

Cibernético and Porto, who have a long working relationship with Konnan, recently spoke on The Taverns of Sin podcast on March 1. During the discussion, they revealed that Konnan has ongoing backstage heat with WWE officials, including Triple H.

According to Cibernético and Porto, the issues stem in part from Konnan’s speech at TripleMania XXXI in August 2025, which reportedly went longer than planned during the ceremony.

Konnan’s Actions at TripleMania XXXI Upset Triple H and WWE

This did not sit well with Triple H or WWE management. They also noted that Konnan confronted a heckler during a Hall of Fame ceremony, another incident that reportedly upset WWE and Triple H.

“When he was inducted into the Hall of Fame, Konnan hung on too much in his speech and even got into it with a fan who was down below attacking him — and Konnan got into it with the fan.”

“And that caused a big thing, I mean, Triple H and all the people from WWE got very angry because his Hall of Fame induction was supposed to be quick and Konnan spoke too much.”

Cibernético and Porto added that the tension between Konnan and WWE is not new and dates back to the 1990s. One of the main reasons cited for the long-standing friction is Konnan’s politically outspoken nature, which has reportedly caused issues with WWE leadership over the years.

“Konnan already had problems with WWE since the UTA days in the ’90s… WWE, like a good American company, already has every Mexican wrestler catalogued — even if they say they don’t know them.”

“Obviously they knew Konnan was conflictive and very political. So when he was Max Moon in WWE… even though he was a good wrestler, WWE still didn’t want him — not because of skill, but because of the politics.”

“When he did that at his Hall of Fame … that reaffirmed that he’s a conflictive political guy who doesn’t give a damn. And we know that when WWE gets attached to something, they get attached, and don’t let go.”
